Saturday, October 5, 2019. The network of “business angels” continues to grow. The last proposal comes from different countries of the Mediterranean and in which has participated decisively the egarense Banc, Business of Angels Network of Catalonia, an entity arise from Cecot. MedAngels is the first network of business angels in the Mediterranean countries and was officially launched at the emblematic Library of the maritime city of Alexandria, in Egypt. The launch took place during the Techne Summit, the meeting of Mediterranean Business Angels.
MedAngels is co-founded by the egarense Albert Colomer, President of Autoocupació, along with Tarek El Kandy, founder of Alex Angels and investors from seven countries on the Mediterranean shore. The MedAngels network groups and coordinates networks of business angels from France, Spain, Greece, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Lebanon, Slovenia and Croatia among others.
“Establishing a network of business angels in the Mediterranean is crucial to facilitate initial investments not only in each country, but also between 21 Mediterranean countries. Building a trust network that promotes investment between countries is very necessary and will also facilitate the connection between Africa, Europe and the Middle East” said the founders of Med Angels, Albert Colomer, founder of Banc and member of the Board of the European Business Angels Network Eban.

After the constitution session, and in front of hundreds of entrepreneurs, investors and managers of the entrepreneurial ecosystem of different Mediterranean countries, in the Great Hall of the Library of Alexandria, the congress continued with the conference “Acceleration of Investors and Entrepreneurs of the Mediterranean”, with the participation of Albert Colomer, vice president of Business Angels Network Catalunya, Nazeh Ben Ammar, president of Carthage Business Angels (Tunisia); Loay El-Shawarby, co-founder of Alex Angels (Egypt); Marcel Dridje, president of Sophia Business Angels (France) and Keith Wallace, managing partner of DeInvesteerders Club.
Ivan Jovetic, president of Montenegro Business Angels Network (Meban) together with Nicholas Rouhana and Corine Kiame of Lebanese IM Capital and representing the networks of Business Angels Sedars and the Fund of Women Investors of Lebanon participated in the event.
