The European Business Angels Network (EBAN) meets in Barcelona these days to celebrate the Board Meeting. His President, the Portuguese Paulo Andrez, and different Board Members arrived from different business angels networks around Europe, will discuss the presentation of preliminary accounts related to 2013, one of the best years in terms of european business angel’s investments, and define 2014 goals.
The meeting, hosted by Albert Colomer, BANC Director and EBAN Executive Committee Member, is held in Barcelona in the premises of Business Angels Network Catalunya (BANC) located in the 22@ district. The place is well chosen to boost the sweet moment of the entrepreneur’s and investor’s catalan ecosystem. According to EBAN data, in 2012 business angels invested in Europe a total amount of 5,1Bilion €. Spain was the second country of Europe with the largest amount, just after United Kingdom and before France. Most of it was produced in the Catalonia Region, where there are a lot of business angels networks and other agents involved. Also the entrepreneur’s local ecosystem is more active than ever, thanks to events like Mobile World Congress, which will take place in the city the following week.
Business Angels Network de Catalunya (BANC), a network of business angels created in 2002 and the pioneer one in Spain, matches entrepreneurs that look for finance with private investors.
